Sunday Morning

Good morning friends!  I thought I would start off each Sunday morning post with one of my favorite biblical quotes.  Whenever I catch myself starting to dwell on things in my life that are not good ... friends who have let me down in some way, people who have cheated me, ways in which I've disappointed myself, etc ... I try to quickly bring to mind these wise words of Paul's to tell myself not to dwell on these "bad" things but to focus on things that are good.  It's a little nudge I give myself & it  is very helpful.  Perhaps it can be helpful to you too   : )

I haven't written for a couple days because John & I have been busy in the yard & traveling to doctor appointments.  I have found a doctor who seems very nice & concerned about her patients & I can transfer half my care to her.  The transfer of the other half I need to pursue this coming week.  

We stopped at a new nursery on Friday on the way home from an appointment & I finally found some liatris plants!  I have been looking everywhere for these!  I also found a different color of bee balm & a different strain of Tritoma from the one we already have.  

We've gotten several things planted ... bushes & grapevines.  The butterfly garden has been at a standstill because I thought I would have the landscapers bring in some good topsoil for it instead of using the bags I purchased at Lowes.  However, they still have not gotten back in touch with me.  Believe it or not, I called THREE other landscapers & left a message that I am interested in having a lot of work done & would they please call me back to arrange for a time to come give me an estimate & schedule the work.  This was the middle of last week.  None of them have returned my calls.  I actually called my house from my cell phone on Friday thinking that maybe there is something wrong with my phone but the phone is working fine.  I just don't get it.  We were cheated out of $20,000 by a contractor we hired to do some work for us before we moved here.  He was not happy that reported him to various agencies & had an attorney contact him to try to get our money back.  Unfortunately the law is pretty useless & he got away with what he did.  If I thought this "man" had any clout, I would almost wonder if he had put out some kind of bad report about me ... like maybe I bounce checks or don't pay my debts or something ... as a way to "pay me back" for trying to get our money back.  I know this borders on paranoiac thinking but what other theory is there?  It is so baffling that none of these people are returning my calls or showing up!

I've decided that if I want this butterfly garden I'm going to have to do it myself.  Today we are going to another plant nursery (60% off sale) & when we get home I plan to go out there & rake the bad dirt out & dump in the topsoil & organic matter I've been holding for it.  Then perhaps I'll do a bit of arranging & then tomorrow do the planting.  Can't wait!

What a beautiful words! And what a nice idea to write every Sunday one of your favorite quotes!

Regarding "strange people" you are right: it seems that people did not want to earn.
It is more or less the same thing happened to my parents-in-law: they needed a plumber for a problem with a tap in their garden.
All the plumbers they contacted have promised them: "yes I'll be there right now" or "yes I will be there tomorrow".
Never seen or heard from them anymore.

They still have that problem with the tap in the garden.
What a pity...

Hi Shirlee,
Yes, we can't sit and dwell on the negatives, it's just not worth it! I am trying to get so much done around here. Making some progress, I have to keep at it slow and steady.
I just can't believe these people that don't want to come and work! And I see you are talking chickens! LOL! I would love to do this, but I am not so sure my hubby would go for that! LOL!
