Rules - 3:18

18.  Finally, in your conduct be friendly toward everyone & a burden to none.  Toward God, live a holy life; toward yourself, be moderate; toward your fellow men, be fair; in life, be modest; in your manner, courteous; in admonition, friendly; in forgiveness, willing; in your promises, true; in your speech, wise; & out of a pure heart gladly share of the bounties you receive.

This final rule completes the Rules of Godly Living.  I have enjoyed sharing these rules with you throughout the month of October.  Although there are a few that I am not quite sure I understand, the majority of them are, I believe, right on the mark.  I have thought a lot about how the Amish are raised learning these rules & are encouraged & expected to put them into practice ... & how much better off the world would be if we all followed suit.  I think this last rule sums up everything beautifully.  If we can all just follow this one rule, the world would be a better place.

Shirlee, I have really enjoyed the rules. I hate that they are ending. I agree with you that last rule is a biggie. Thanks so much for taking the time to share with all of us.

Truly a lot packed in this last one - and captures so much of the other rules so succinctly. I have enjoyed this "series" and, too, thank you for sharing them with us....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Well my friend, I too am sorry they are ending, but they ended with a bang! I hope your doctors appointment was successful. I am sorry the one here didn't work out. There are lots of good ones out there. I hope your furnace is fixed, you are warm and enjoying your cup of tea.
