Cross Stitch Help Needed

I have posted this on a CS forum but thus far have gotten no help.  I'm hoping I might have a stitcher or two following my blog who might be able to give me the answer I need.

I have finished a cross stitch piece ... a little pillow-type pinkeep ... & the directions say to attach chenille trim around the edges (on the seams) with a ladder stitch.  I know what a ladder stitch is & have used it before to close up openings ... I just can't figure out how I'm supposed to use it to attach this chenille braid.

Shirlee,
A picture of what your trying to do might help~ but I'm thinking that after you make the pillow and stuff it, you'd take the chenille braid and attach to the seam line with the ladder stitch. That would hide the stitching. I'd just attach the braid however you see fight for yourself.
Hope that helps 8o)
Blessings,
Jean

I'm a learner by seeing, so this one I am having a hard time wrapping my head around. Are you maybe supposed to do the stitch over the chenille to make it be attached to the seam of the pillow with coordinating thread?

I think Jessica has the right idea - usually when I do the ladder stitch it doesn't show. But you have to do the stitch on your pillow on the OUTSIDE of the item, and then it will nestle down into the chenille and hide there..... Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of your project!
