January 4th & Nary A Stitch

I can't believe it is January 4th & I have yet to make one stitch in a new project!  Granted I have some good excuses.  I've been taking down Christmas decorations (still have a bit of that left to do), filling out a beaucoup of insurance claims (oh what fun ... not!), & getting back on the diet bandwagon after taking a nasty fall off over the holidays.  Granted I did have some fun organizing my stash & yes, taking advantage of some after-Christmas/Happy New Year sales ... but actually stitching?  No.  I thought that last night would be the night. Yesterday I got my fabric ready, put it in my Q-Snap, gathered the necessary floss, & placed my needle where my first stitch will go.  However, yesterday I also had oral surgery.  I had no idea it was going to be as involved as it was.  I was pretty doped up on pain medication afterward so attempting to stitch anything would've resulted in something quite alien looking.  I am feeling much better today so come what may I am going to get started on this project!  Unfortunately I cannot share with you what it is ... it's an exchange gift ... but I'm looking forward to doing it.  It is quite cheery   : )

I can share with you that I will also be stitching the January Word Play.

I love this!  It has all the best things in life rolled into one   : )   Shar & I are doing this as a SAL.  She is ready to start but I am waiting for my fabric to arrive.  I anticipate it will be here before the end of the week which will hopefully be right after I finish this other project   : )

We actually had some snow the day before yesterday!  Really!  Kentucky snow (God opening up a can of talcum powder & shaking a wee bit out) but snow just the same!  It's a lovely 26 degrees right now with the day's high predicted at 43.  For some reason the Weather.com site also gives me the temp in Iron Mountain, Michigan where we lived a few years ago.  Right now it is 3 degrees there with a prediction for flurries & a high of 30.  That's more like it   : )

Morning Friend
SO glad you are feeling better. I too had some snow yesterday. And beautiful blowing snow showers on and off all day. Didnt amount to much but sure was pretty. I just love the new stitchery you are about to do.
Hugs Trace

Oral surgery--yikes!! I am glad that you're feeling better! I love that January Word Play--I look forward to seeing your progress on it!

I envy you your snow! We had gale force winds over the last two days. Yesterday when I came down in the morning and hadn't yet put on my glasses, I was surprised to see that it had snowed. I thought most of it had melted but that around the fence there was still a bit covering the grass. When I put on my glasses I realized that what I thought was snow was actually the recycling that had been blown all over my yard when the bin was toppled by the wind!! LOL

Happy stitching!

Oh yikes....oral surgery - what's up with that???! Was this planned - or ick out of the blue??? Hope you're doing better by the time you read this. Oh....I so love Brenda's monthly word plays....I've wanted to do each and every one....but haven't gotten any. Boo Hoo. More on the dance card.... We've had unseasonably weird (i.e., warm) weather here even for Nod....got to almost 40 today. Can't imagine what the southern part of the state is feeling....I'm sure, though, it is but a tease, and winter will get a better grip on us very soon. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead....I'm so behind, I wanna bury myself under some covers somewhere....Smiles & Sleepy Hugs ~ Robin
