Happy Groundhog Day!

First off I want to say thank you for wishing me well regarding my upset tummy yesterday.  The peppermint tea actually did help!  I only had this one tea bag which was sent to me as a little thank you gift when I ordered some of my favorite tea (Hot Cinnamon Sunset by Haney & Sons) from a supplier on Amazon or eBay.  I usually buy directly from the company but went through this supplier instead for some reason.  Anyway, he included the peppermint tea bag (organic) so I had it here to try sometime.  It was actually very good!

I decided to lay low yesterday so basically my day was spent in the recliner stitching on the January Word Play.  I learned, if nothing else, that my stitching is even slower than I thought it was.  I really should have called my blog The Slower Than Molasses Stitcher or something like that.  After several hours of stitching all I got done were the 6 bottom rows that were still remaining on Frosty, a couple small snowflakes over on that side, the leaf, vine, & berries to the right of Frosty, & maybe a little over half the cart.  I still have several words, a bird, Frosty's arms along with his scarf & buttons, & the cart wheels/handle to do.  What's that going to take me ... a week of constant stitching?  I know I've said in the past that I don't care about the time it takes me to stitch something ... it's the process of stitching that I enjoy ... but it's like I've been working on this thing half my life!  My goal is to finish stitching it in the next day or two & then have a big cyber party celebrating it being done   : )

I have several things to take pictures of but my new camera, purchased in October, is driving me nuts.  It has this built-in stabilizer thingie in it & that is one of the reasons I bought it.  It's supposed to keep things steady so your pictures don't blur.  It was doing that for a while but the other day I tried to photograph my progress on Frosty & I got blurry photo after blurry photo.  Grrrrr!  If anyone has any suggestions to remedy this ... or suggestions for a replacement camera that will take a good picture even while you're galloping around on a horse ... please let me know.

Today is Groundhog Day.  I have heard that the famous Phil saw his shadow so we are in for 6 more weeks of winter.  However, Gracie ... the groundhog who lives underneath a small grouping of trees in our front yard, has been roaming around for at least 2 weeks now so she obviously does not agree with Phil.  All this talk of groundhogs today made me think of a wonderful movie ...

John & I love this movie & watch it every so often.  Very funny!  I am going to have to ask him to get it out today so we can watch it again.  I highly recommend it!  Happy Groundhog Day!

Happy Groundhog Day to you too. Your camera might be fixed by resetting it. Then just reapply the settings the way you like them. (At least that's what i had to do with my camera to get it working decent again.) ...and Bill Murray is a great actor...a really good movie, that one.

Happy Groundhog Day! It's my SIL's birthday--I'm thankful to Punxatawney Phil for helping me to remember that. ;) Maybe try clicking the button half way down to kind of set the photo? I don't know if that will work on your camera but it does on mine--kind of freezes the photo? I can't explain it well.

i'm glad that you're feeling better!

Glad you're feeling better today, Shirlee :) My son uses Peppermint Tea whenever his stomach is upset and swears by it!

Being a slow stitcher myself, I feel for you--I just can't sit there and stitch for more than an hour or two a day lately. Think I have stitchy ADD or something :)

I am a slow stitcher, too - never mind. It is always the journey I saw. I love that new name as a possibility for your blog. so cute!

Happy Groundhog Day,

I always am ordering tea for my mom from Harney & Sons. Cinnamon too :)
Sometimes stitching is slow, give yourself a break! I have had 2 work weeks with absolutely no stitching during the week. I hate it.
I hate that movie, Rich and I saw it at the movie theater when it came out and I must have been in a bad mood :( So now it is a joke between us, he must have texted me 10 times yesterday to wish me happy groundhog day. UGH!

Ahhhh....Dearest Shirlee - take comfort in the fact that there is one stitcher who is slower than you....and that would be me. Truly, seriously, hands down. Never saw Groundhog Day...I'm not much for comedies....Dear Mr. Crow, however, can't get enough of them. He's making noises about watching Caddyshack AGAIN tonight. Looks like I'll be burrowing myself into Contract Defenses.....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

I would suggest trying half pressing the button, the camera should automatically focus then without moving the camera you should press the button fully to take the picture.

Wishing you a good weekend xxx
