A Busy Weekend

I spent the weekend inventorying my cross stitch fabric ... something I've been meaning to do for quite some time.  I also decided to kit a few ornaments for me to stitch during my recovery from surgery.  I think I got a little carried away   : )

Yep ... 13 ornaments kitted here   : )   I am supposed to "take it easy" for 10-14 days after surgery.  If you do the math, I have enough ornaments kitted to allow me to stitch one ornament per day with one day left over.  I'm pretty sure not all these ornaments will be stitched in that period of time, but looking ahead, I certainly have my stitching planned out for me in the coming weeks   : )

You might not recognize the first 2 ornaments in the bottom row.  This is because they are from the Just Cross Stitch Ornaments 2013 magazine.  Myra mentioned downloading her copy & of course I immediately asked her for the link   : )   It's a good issue this year.  I found 10 must stitch ornaments & several maybes.  If you are impatient like me & Myra, you can click here to download the magazine   : )

I ordered several of the St. Charles market releases when they were offered & they arrived in the mail today   : )
I have another of the Lone Elm Lane charts on backorder.  These are actually my going to the hospital gift from John.  What a sweetheart he is   : )

I want to thank everyone who commented on my last post where I was trying to find several designs I had seen on a strange blog. There was no way to contact the blog owner & she did not state who designed them or what their names were.  In case you are interested, here is the information for you.
Designer:  Both designed by
Ewe & I & Friends
Design on Left:  Christmas Sampler
Design on Right:  White Christmas

Designer:  Both designed by Prairie Schooler
Design on Left :  Adaptation from
OOP book #63, Christmas Samplers
Design on Right:  From OOP book #82, Christmas Trees

Designer:  Prairie Schooler
Design:  From OOP book #63,
Christmas Samplers

I was able to purchase the two Ewe & I & Friends charts from J.J.'s Collectibles.  I found PS book #63 on eBay & won the auction last night   : )   I am now on the search for PS book #82.

Now that I have some ornaments ready to stitch, I need to concentrate on making a few meals for John to warm up for us during my recovery.  He doesn't cook anything but he can warm things up pretty well   : )   The days are flying by much too quickly.  I'm getting a little nervous about the surgery but I guess that's to be expected.  I am thankful for all your prayers & good wishes.  I know God will watch over me & over the surgical team & hospital staff as well.  Soon this will all be a distant memory.  I'm looking forward to that   : )

Wow! I would say you are prepared stitchwise!! I just have to wait for JCS in the mail. What fabulous gifts from John. Have fun cooking, NOT! At least I don't find that fun. I love to bake though. I am starting to bake again. =) Your prepared meals will be very worth it.

Better to have too many ornaments/projects kitted up than not enough! Looks like a nice variety! Thanks for the information on the charts you had pictures. I thought the last two were PS designs, but couldn't find pictures in my search!

LOL You and I impatient...No way! LOL You are way ahead of me. I am forcing myself to finish Beggars Night before I start on any ornaments. Of course we won't talk about the LHN Liberty piece or the La D Da piece that are in progress too.

That was so nice of John to buy you a hospital present. ;o(

I say a prayer and think of you everyday.

Hi dear Shirlee, you are certainly well prepared! I , too, download my stitching mags now- really easy on the iPad, much cheaper and it means that I get them straight away (some UK mags take months to get to Oz - something to do with distribution rights). Thanks for updating re those projects - I am going to have to get hold of them all now, too! I always love your choice of designs.
Don't be nervous about the surgery - God will look after you and we are all praying for you.
lots of love, Kaye

Great market stash also!
Thanks for the info on the ornaments.
You and your surgery team will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Maybe John can post on how you are doing after your surgery?

You're supposed to be resting, so I hope there are no knots or Frostys in that pile.

Such a great idea to kit up all these ornaments. It will be wonderful to just choose one of the bags, pull out the contents and start stitching.
Great new stash, too.
Wishing you all the best!!!!

Wow! I love your kits. So nice to have everything ready to go. I was involved in a kit swap for a few years based on the ornament issue. It was wonderful to have something ready to go. I think that I need to do this with some Halloween ornaments.
I love your new stash too. John is a sweetie :)
Keeping you in my thoughts!

Good on you for being so organised! You'll definitely be able to take it easy after the surgery... especially with all these lovely projects! Glad you managed to find out more about the various designs. Take care, xx

I would say you are prepared. I'm impressed at how organized you are. I'm going to suggest you make a soup or two ahead. It freezes well and is easy to heat up. And it seems like you will crave a little comfort food while you recover.
Hugs, Kim

Although my finger is twitching to hit the buy button!! I just spent the past couple of minutes looking through Ewe and Eye charts and nearly bought a bunch too! Maybe I'm easily influenced too!!
