Do You Have Any Favorite Christian Books?

I like to read a good book even though it cuts into my stitching time   : )   Although fictional books are fun every now & then, my very favorite books are those that teach me something.  I love the history of just about anything, & biographies are great too, but I really enjoy reading books that help me in my Christian walk.  Right now I'm reading The Red Sea Rules which I highly recommend.  I didn't care for the preface & wondered what I had gotten myself into as I was reading it,  but once I started in on the chapters, I felt as if I were a dry sponge absorbing water.  The author shares wonderful insights regarding what we can learn from the Israelites' Red Sea experience.
Do you have any favorite Christian books that you would like to recommend?  Other than the Bible, of course   : )

I am currently reading My Heart's Cry by Anne Graham Lotz. I own this book. I got it from a woman at church. I have had it for years and am finally making the time to read it. It is good.

I don't read alot of Christian books but I loved The Purpose Driven Life. It really motivated me.

I usually re-read it or his Purpose Driven Christmas

I haven't heard of that one, but I have MANY!! Right now I am in the middle of two books, "Living in Light of Eternity' by Stacy and Paula Rinehart which is delightful, autographed and a thrift store find! And also reading "Lion and Lamb, The Relentless Tenderness of Jesus' by Brennan Manning--ooh, so good! They take time, because I want to read them over and over and take notes, and savor it... I have a few devotionals I have been in also... but I better stop and just email you! I could go on and on... and I haven't even told you about my favorites! Hugs!

I don't have any that I can recommend as I don't get much time to read books. I'm liking all the recommendations you're getting though. I like audiobooks so I can stitch at the same time I'm listening to a book.

Two Christian fiction books that are oldies, but wonderful: Not My Will and The Light in My Window by Francena H. Arnold. The second book is the sequel to the first. Love these books. Good clean fiction and powerful messages.

The Bible is the greatest christian book ever written I think but I've read all of CS Lewis "Chronicles of Narnia" does that count? And I did almost finish all of the bible, about 95%. love Annette

If I do read any Christian literature, they're usually about praying or fasting from the Holy Fathers or my prayer book. There is one though that I started to read and should finish. It's called "The Mountain of Silence: A search for Orthodox Spirituality" by Kyriacos C Markides. It's about how he followed one of Mount Athos's monks and the establishment of churches, convents and monasteries. It's beautifully written.

Hugs
