Grocery Shopping

John walked to town & back yesterday (3 miles each way) to get us some bread & whatever else he could manage.  Here he is starting out, bundled up in two pair of socks, two pair of pants, two shirts, coat, scarf, hat, gloves, & tennis shoes.  The temp was 10 degrees with a wind chill of -1.

The road to town is treacherous in the best of weather.  No sidewalks & lots of blind curves.  He was almost run over a couple times.  The people just zoomed past him as if he wasn't there.

We had some wintery mix last night & some rain, but it doesn't seem to have made a dent in the driveway this morning.  I can't see his footprints though ... not very clearly anyway ... so maybe that's a good sign.

This past week has cinched it for us.  As much as I've hated living here, there are a few things which have made me question if moving is the right thing to do.  No more.  As soon as we can drive a car up & down the driveway, I will be calling some realtors & having them come give us their thoughts on listing the house for sale.  In the meantime I am going to be tidying the moving boxes that have never been unpacked & packing a few more so that everything will look neat & move out ready when people come to view the place.

Oh, I would not let my husband walk to town this time of year, it's too dangerous with the cold and the people who zoom by him. Moving out of there is a good idea I wish you good luck in finding a better safer place. Take care. xx

Even in decision making God's timing is at work, right?! I hope you're at peace with this choice and pray that it all falls into place as stress free as possible. Any idea where you'd like to move to?

He was blessed that he got there and back without mishap! I'm betting that a house closer to more amenities is vital! Hugs!

Oh my goodness! I am glad that John made it there and back safely (even with cars zooming by him).

Thinking of you both!

It is always a hard to decision to move, but sometimes it is the best one we make for ourselves..... where would you like to go?

I do hope for your sake that those realtors can come see you soon. All the best for the tidy up and for the sale of the house.

As a child I always wanted to be snowed in.Thought it would be a great adventure. But today, oh no, I like the warm weather better.
Hope you are ok and send best wishes from Germany

He's an intrepid explorer! But he needed snowboots not tennis shoes!
At least this has helped you come to the decision to make the move with enthusiasm. Your house is beautiful and I am sure someone will want to buy it. Someone with their own snowplough so they don't have to rely on the neighbours!
