It Just Keeps Getting Better : )

I checked Weather.com again this morning.  Notice anything different about the scan?

Here's the difference.
In all the years that I have been following the Weather station & Weather.com, I've never seen a Heavy Snow alert with that round red circle with the exclamation point in the center!  And of course when I click on the Winter Storm Warning bar, the information still tells me that we're in for 8-12 inches!  I'm positively giddy!!!!!

John & I just got back from Walmart.  We didn't really need to stock up on anything ... especially since we won't be snowed in for a week like last time ... but we figured it wouldn't hurt to make a run to get a few things.

Notice the opened box of Peeps.  I've already got them aging on top of the refrigerator.
And yes, we brought home some eggs, bread, butter, & water as well   : )

It's been raining since yesterday evening & it hasn't stopped.  Our bird friends are finding all the water in their feeding area to be a bit daunting. This is not a great photo but I think it gives you some idea of how waterlogged everything is.
When it rains a lot, a pond develops on the property line between our yard & a neighbor's field.  This is as huge as I have ever seen it get.
I thought I would take this last photo of our front yard for a "before" shot so you will have something for comparison tomorrow after the snow falls tonight   : )
And now I am going to go make some bacon, eggs, & toast.  A nice comfort breakfast on a rainy day.

Such lovely weather across so much of the U.S.!! We're getting rain today, as well, turning to snow during the night. Ugh.
BTW, I 'age' my Peeps, too!

Glad you were able to get out and get the necessities -- cookies and peeps! Your side yard with the mini pond looks a lot like my parents' front yard.

Hmmm...I think I will join you for breakfast. Sounds mighty tasty!

It's March and I'm ready for spring and the lawn and garden show is this weekend! Our forecast is calling for freezing rain and ice followed by 4-6" snow Say it ain't so!

Oh be glad you or John do NOT have to shovel heavy snow. We just had it this week and Brian did not enjoy shoveling.
I saw peeps last week and thought of you first thing. Love the pink ones. HA!

Mmmmm, that breakfast sounds great!
Glad you got some "necessities" at Walmart. ;)
Oh, I love Peeps when you leave them open until they're all chewy and stretchy!
Wow, that's a lot of water.
Stay safe and warm, and enjoy your snow.

It must be great to see grass again after all that snow. I don't know what Peeps are - we don't have them over here.

Looks like you are all stocked up with some lovely treats so you can sit by the window and watch the snowflakes falling, you have a lovely view from your window.

Gotta love a woman with priorities! Peeps and snow, doesn't get much better than that. Can't wait to hear how much you get down that way. We didn't get much up here in the hinterlands.
