Still Alive ... & Crazy ... After All These Months

If anyone still has me on your reading list, hello!  I thought I would bring my blog out of the winter season & into summer, but as you maybe can guess, I've got a problem.  I tried uploading my usual summer background but only got a white page with a grey box telling me I needed to update Photobucket to be a third party user or something like that.  I then went on a search for a replacement background, only to be informed with each one that I needed to update Photobucket.  Do I even have a Photobucket account?  I don't know, but I went to the link, tried to sign in, & was told they didn't recognize me.  I then figured my only option was to click the join button.  This took me to a sign-up page with a form which I proceeded to fill out.  Got my email address entered & chose a user name, then got a notice ... not a pop-up, but a notice below my user name ... telling me my information could be compromised if I continued.  What in the world?  I then cleared out my user name & my email address & clicked to get out of there, but instead of seeing only my computer's desktop, I was faced with a big ad for a porn site!  Ewwwww!!!  Clicked out of there & did an immediate scan for bad stuff & none was found, thank goodness.  So, what is going on with adding a background to your blog?  Or is it just me?  I even got the grey box when I tried to upload a standard background offered by Blogger!

I didn't mean to start this message with my Blogger woes.  I just wanted to try to start posting to my blog on a regular basis again.  The past few months ... ever since we moved here actually ... have been filled with one problem after another.  Two (yes, two) cancer scares, both breast & lung.  Still not sure what's going on with either of them.  The breast issue has been handled well (they think it's just a cell mass & will do 6-month followups in the coming year to follow up on it), but the lung issue has been a total nightmare.  I won't go into all that has been involved, but I've seen an oncologist, had a bunch of testing, & he is puzzled by what it could be.  Looked like cancer, but then it didn't show up hot on the PET scan.  First it was one size, then it got smaller, then it got bigger.  I saw a pulmonologist for what I hoped would be new eyes & his flippant concensus was "it's probably nothing."  He did suggest that it could be an arthritis nodule or a mass of fungus.  Guess what this area I'm living in is full of?  Yes, fungus.  Fungus & mold.  Not just my neighborhood but the entire Ohio River Valley.  I was diagnosed with asthma & allergies ... a complication from the mold & fungus.  Needless to say, I can't wait to move away from here.  One more year on our lease.  Hopefully I will survive.

Other medical & dental issues have arisen, some rather extreme.  Honestly, it's been one thing after another.  It's rather annoying.  Still, I'm a lot better off than a lot of other people so I am not complaining.  God's blessings are abundant & He is watching over me.

We still haven't had a yard sale or gone to the flea market or advertised anything on Craigslist.  I did sell a bunch of craft stuff on eBay.  I have lots more to list.  One year is a long time to wait to move when you consider the mold & fungus issues, but a very short time when you consider all the things that need to be done before then!  Once I feel better ... fingers crossed! ... I can start taking care of all this downsizing.

Craft-wise I have been knitting ... several pairs of socks & a few shawls.  Claire & I are planning to do another Hisser Sisters CAL where we will crochet a blanket beginning on her birthday, July 31st.

Okay ... that's it for now.  I'm sorry for all the bad stuff ... just wanted to catch you up as to why I've been absent for so long.  Life is good.  Can't complain.  Hopefully I can get this blogging issue taken care of & start blogging regularly again.  I did open an Instagram account a while back.  If anyone is on Instagram, feel free to follow me there.  My ID is shirleeknits   : )

I was just thinking about you. Good to see your post! From what I understand, Photobucket has done away with their free account. They changed up everything without notifying the customer base about the changes. Many people are even locked out of their accounts. So if your graphics and/or pictures were in Photobucket before being uploaded to your blog, that is the reason in a nutshell.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Thinking of you!

Nice to see you blogging again despite all the health woes!
Can't help you with the background thing, I use the same one all the time. I have whinged about Photo*ucket this evening myself. A whole bunch of my older photos have vanished from my blog. Luckily I save them all on a desktop but I have to re-add them now.

Wow. That is wild. I had the strongest feelings about you this morning for hours. And now your post. Sorry I don't know a thing about how to help you fix the blog. Sure hope you get the lung thing sorted out. I remember from when we emailed months ago about the breast mass thing that we have the same situation. I just put it all in God's hands and show up for the checkups every 6 months.
P.S. I think the blog looks nice the way it is right now.

It';s so lovely to see a post from you Shirlee. I have been keeping up with your knitting on Instagram but I have missed you here. So sorry to her of all the problems you've had. What a nightmare it must have been. Do take care of yourself.

So glad to see you back but sorry that you are suffering. Please get your lung check at a major medical center. My daughter went to University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and it saved her life! I more that understand the mold and mildew issues. We once broke a lease as I just can't be near them either. Will head over to Instagram and try to find you!

Hi Shirlee. Sorry for all the issues. I had the lung thing too, CT scan every six months for two years. They decided they were nodules and benign. But I couldn't sleep or relax for those two years waiting for bad news. Hope your condition resolves itself. Google used Picasa, now gone, and I have no idea what's happening. Sorry I can't help!

Hi Shirlee, so good to read a post from you again but so sorry to hear that you have been unwell and that you are having problems with where you are living now. Can't wait to see some of your projects but I have been wondering, are you doing any stitching at all? Sending you lots of healing hugs, xxxx
