Another Morning in the Life of the Easily Influenced Stitcher

"Lean on, trust in, & be confident in the Lord
with all your heart & mind
& do not rely on your own insight
or understanding."
Proverbs 3:5

The sun is shining brightly this morning here in the devil's playground.  I decided to take a brief walk in the yard with my camera to see what I could see.  I would've taken Pearl with me but she is still sleeping.  The blind (me) leading the blind (her) in the execution of french knots was not the smartest undertaking for either of us yesterday.  She needs all the rest she can get.  Anyway, back to the yard.  I don't have any photos of new iris blooms to show you today but here is a rose bush that is already blooming profusely.  These roses actually smell like roses!  It's so hard to find roses that smell like roses anymore.

While taking my stroll I was excited to see a bluebird!  I managed to capture a couple photos of him ... one on the rain gutter above the garage & another on a fence post.  I have seen him & Mrs. Bluebird flying about the yard now & again but this is the first time this year that I was able to get photos of one of them.  I am glad they are visiting us again this year   : )

Speaking of critters, here's what I have to deal with most mornings when I'm at my computer.  Note that Pearl was so exhausted after our french knot fiasco that she passed out right here on the table!
Thank God I don't have any aspirations to be a hand model!  Look at that fat hand & all those veins & wrinkles!  If horror movies were still in vogue, Hollywood would be beating a path to my door.
"Hey!  Why did you take your hand away?"

I'm not sure what I will be doing today.  My guess is schlepping around the house looking at all there is to do but not feeling like doing any of it.  Yep, another morning in the life of the Easily Influenced Stitcher.  I did do some stitching last night but I'm not ready to show it to you yet.  Maybe I'll do some stitching today.  Then again, maybe I'll just go back to bed.

Your roses and birds are beautiful. Don't fret about your hands; it happens to all of us. I woke up one morning and had brown - age?!?, no way! - spots on mine! And, oh, do I understand that schlepping around deciding what needs to be done first, then doing - nothing! Enjoy whatever you choose today!

Beautiful roses Shirlee, and what a lovely bird , I would be over the moon to have a bird like that in my garden.

I did once be a hand model for Cadburys , always had nice hands but now they look overworked, but thats life age creeps up on you.

I can't stop laughing at passed out Pearl in the background.

The roses look so pretty in front of that fence. The blue bird is very pretty. I have stalked one in my backyard but he is camera shy and so far no luck in getting a photo.

Yes, Pearl made me snicker too.
Sweet Sophie and Henry both like to hang out with us at the computers! ;)

Like Marly, I am still giggling about Pearl passed out right there where she landed. I remember once (not too long ago) when I fell asleep on the floor while dusting the bottom shelf to a bookcase.

We had a family of Bluebirds hatch in our grill a couple years ago. Needless to say we didn't grill until Momma kicked them out of the nest that year!

The only stitching I got done last night was the ripping out kind. Tonight I will attempt to stitch that section correctly. Maybe Polly will help me this time.

Lovely roses! I hope you snipped one or two to enjoy in the house. You and Pearl can join me in the "I despise french knots" club.

What a lovely walk around your yard! Yesterday, I had one Iris bloom open, today I have tons open. Of course, there is frost advisory for tonight and we are rushing around covering everything. It sure doesn't feel like May.

My furbaby always lays her head beside my laptop too.

What!? French knots?! Stop torturing me. I hate them.
Love the cat pic. Did you have to move her box since the house is on the market?

Oh, I'm so jealous that you have bluebirds, Shirlee! Would you believe I've never seen one in real life? For some reason, they just don't come here...

I hope you and Pearl enjoy the weekend--hope she has recovered from the attack of the French Knots by now :)
