Just a popping by post to say that we are continuing to settle into what will be our home for the next, let's see, 21-1/2 months now : ) There are still lots of boxes to unpack &/or organize, & lots of things have been set aside for donations or yard sales or eBay or my Etsy shop. I am, as I have probably said before, we have been dragging some boxes around with us for years, from move to move, without really knowing what's inside. In addition to these boxes, we'll be going through all the Christmas boxes to downsize their contents. I have decided that I'm tired of having "dust catchers" sitting around the house, so I'm guessing at least 80% of my primitives are going to be sold. I'm also going to go through all my craft things ... cross stitch supplies, quilting fabrics, paints & woodworking things, you name it ... & downsize those as well. Kitchen things are likewise going to be downsized. The plan is to move to our next home taking only the things with us that we really, really like & that we will really, really use. I'm looking forward to that.

Happy Sunday, Shirlee! It is always good to see a new post from you. I have been slowly going through things and purging. Good luck in your quest to downsize.
Good luck with the downsizing--it's a task. Downsizing is a good thing
I enjoy seeing all your crafting and stitching, so I don't see a need for a separate blog, but of course that's up to you. As for this post, I may have to come back to read it daily - I've wanted to pretend we're moving and downsize the 38 years of accumulation in this house, and just maybe your words will inspire me to actually do it!
If you do start one for the yarn things...be sure to let me know...I will be there!
You are a dynamo, my friend, you have already done so much more weeding out possessions than I have, and we moved 6 months before you! I'm impressed <3
I keep putting off going through that storage unit and getting rid of it all...either garage sale or give it away...isn't it amazing how much stuff we amass over the course of raising children and family?!
Keep up the great work, Shirlee
Continued prayers for you and John
Wow, that's a big task ahead of you. Make it simpler - just send all the cross stitch stuff over here and I'll sort it for you LOL
Sounds like you are ready to get organized. It will be a season of adventure, finding treasures in old boxes. I hope you have much success in selling and finding new homes for many, many things.
I too am going through papers and the whole house to start getting rid of my things, Less is More, that's what Mama said. yvonne
Hi Shirlee! I am happy to see that you and John are settling in your new home. My husband and I moved to a smaller home 18 months ago and have been working on downsizing. We really enjoy the simplicity that comes with the cleaning and clearing out- I know you will too. It gives me more time to stitch, quilt, and work in my garden- the things I so enjoy. Sending you God's peace- keep up the good work! Mary
Hello again! Hope you are well... Your CAL project is looking very nice. I was considering making a blanket for a granddaughter, but... changed my mind! Just not inspired enough... Stitching fits the ticket. :) Hugs!
Well hello stranger... Hope you remember me.... Ahhh...the moving issue still raises its unruly head in your life. Sorry it turned out to be such a challenge...but hopefully you are where days get snowy and cold in a few months. I know how you love that.... Me, not so much. ;o) I see that we still have many things in common...particularly at this point BOXES. Grrrr... the bane of my existence these days! The after effects of WWR ("When We Remodeled").... I read you last several posts, and know that you are continuing to struggle health-wise...so I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.... Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
I too am in a mood to simplify a bit. It seems that as I get older my taste changes and I want less "stuff" around me (or maybe it's wanting less stuff to save from grandbabies hands! LOL). I also have a plan of going through each and every Christmas box this year and making goodwill runs. I know that there are several boxes each year hubby lugs up and I just open and say take that one back to the basement!
Hope you're settling into the neighborhood well. Sooner or later I know we'll run into each other at Kroger or somewhere!
There must be something in the wind. I too want to start weeding out my
house, it's amazing how much we accumulate in a few years. I have been
weeding all summer in the yard, time to go inside. Then there is my Fall party, and back to oil painting. This summer just went so fast. yvonne
I always love your posts - matbe after organizing they will be many more of them (I hope)....

Good luck with the downsizing - I am trying to do that but I find it really hard to throw anything out - lol!
Happy Sunday Sept 18th.
Fall has arrived in Maine,
hoping it last a long time.
My favorite time of year.
Be well and drop over sometime. yvonne
Good luck with your downsizing. I always want to do the same in my house but I never relly make any progress in it. I hate throwing things away.
August? Really? I hope you are doing alright. have a blessed evening
