God grant you the light in Christmas, which is faith;
the warmth of Christmas, which is love;
the radiance of Christmas, which is purity;
the righteousness of Christmas, which is justice;
the belief in Christmas, which is truth;
& all of Christmas, which is Christ.

Sophie

Below is a picture of our beloved Sophie.  We adopted her the day after Christmas from the local animal shelter when we moved to Michigan in 1999.  We were told that she was 9 months old at that time which makes her almost 13 years old now.  She & her sister had been found abandoned & starving.  The shelter had named her Cagney & her sister Lacey after the old TV show characters but we decided Sophie was a better fit   : )   Her sister was adopted first & we were lucky enough to adopt Sophie.  She is the sweetest, most loving cat but she is very wary of strangers.  If someone she doesn't know comes into the house, she immediately finds a place to hide until they are gone.  She is totally an indoor cat.  She loves to sleep curled up next to me in bed, oftentimes pawing at the covers so I will let her get under them.  If I'm in my recliner reading or stitching, she is right there on my lap scratching her face on my book or suggesting where I should place my next stitch.  This is the first year that she has ever curled herself up on the heating vents.  I'm guessing it's her need to warm her old bones.  I just wanted to share a photo of her with you   : )

Hello Sophie, so nice to meet you. Sure wish you were here to snuggle with me on the sofa today. The temps have fallen steadily all day and its beginning to get a chill here inside. Shirlee, you could come along with Sophie as it is our kind of day,,, windy, rainy and cold. We even have snow flurries in the forcast for later tonight and tomorrow. Ground too warm for it to stick, but here in the south, snow is SNOW. Just enjoy your day with that fuzzy ball of love.

Sophie is absolutely percious!! I love long-haired kitties - and mine were all long-haired until my most recent two (and they shed more than any of my long-hairs ever did!!) Oh how I would love to cuddle up and have her snuggle with me. My kitties like to sleep with me - but they're not lap kitties otherwise. Wishing you a wonderful day...we're off and outta here in another 10 minutes....Thanks for the prayers...Hugs (to you and Sophie) ~ Robin

Sophie is gorgeous! Our skinny black kitty LadyMoon loves to sit on the baseboard heaters and in front of my little portable electric heater. She's also one of those cats that stretches out on the floor in a patch of sunlight. :) She's an under the cover kitty like Sophie. I love Sophie's fur, she looks so cuddly soft!

Sophie is just beautiful! and her name suits her, she looks every inch a lady :-)

My two kitties like the warm too! one of them loves to snuggle under the duvet with me, the other is content to settle for the bottom of the bed or more often than not in-between me and my dh!

Thanks for sharing a lovely photo.

Shirlee, your Sophie is adorable and my cat does the same things she does. Always has to be on my lap and sleep with me ~ so loving. But doesn't like strangers either ~ he also runs and hides!!!

Hi Sophie, You are so gorgeous, and aren't you lucky to have found such a great 'mum' in Shirlee. Our Coco, who went to kitty heaven last year, used to sit on the heating vents to warm her 16 year old bones, too. Our new kitty cats, Milo and Furio who are much too busy running around being kittens to lie on heating vents, say hi.
