The Devil's Playground Mascot

We've been living here in The Devil's Playground nearly 6 years now & never have we seen the local mascot traipsing through our yard!  The Devil's Playgrounders believe that if a skunk visits your property, good luck can't be far behind.  I sure hope this little critter was just passing through.  I was surprised when I went outside to take some pictures that it didn't scurry away. John said it didn't have to worry about me getting too close.  He got that right   : )

Well then I am glad he visited you. This must mean that you will soon have your home sold. Surely his visit must mean this.

I kept thinking about your lucky mascot, and did a quick google. I wondered why he looked so different than the skunks I was used to seeing. Interesting that they can vary a bit in color and their stripes can also have a slight variation.

Oh, Miss Shirlee, be careful. Yikes, let's name her "Flower", or maybe "
Lavender". Giggle.

Whoa! Did he make footprints? It looks like he is walking on top of the snow, so it is probably iced over like we were last week! Better to see it in winter, when you won't irritate it! Hugs!

Your skunk has the most white I've ever seen on a skunk. Hope it brings good luck your way.

I've never seen a skunk! He looks a bit scary. Here's hoping your good luck isn't too far behind him...

Hope you have good luck, the luck was not getting his purfume all over you, next time let hubby take the pictures or do it from the safety of your house thru a window. You would need allot of tomato juice to remove his purfume from yourself. big hugs Lynda Ruth

Ahhh, he's so cute! I've never seen a live one; usually I just see them dead by the side of the road.

Your skunk visitor shows up really well on the snowy landscape, Shirlee... We had one living under our front porch one summer and had to have "Critter Control" come take it away--we were afraid it would have babies there and then we would really be in trouble. Hope yours brings you luck :)

I've never heard that skunks bring good luck, but that would be good if it's true!!! He does look a little different than the ones I've seen here--his stripes look wider! Handsome fellow! (but probably smelly!)

Fingers crossed that good luck comes your way and he did his job.

We have a 'regular' skunk hanging around. I could smell it, a wiff or two today. All of the cats have their rabies shots for reasons like that.

Thank you so much for sharing these pics - I always thought that skunks were black and white like Pepe Le Peu!
