I was lucky enough to make yesterday a stitching day ... most of the afternoon & evening. This is the progress I've made on my SAL ...
Alas, I do not feel as if I'm really ahead of the game in any way because I haven't stitched at all today. It's been one of those overcast, rainy, windy days where you just want to curl up underneath the covers & sleep. I did do some laundry & some dishes & worked a wee bit more on my stash inventory & yes, I did take a nap ... lol! As you can probably tell there are 2 words not yet stitched on this piece ... one on top of the large white snowflakes & the other to the right of them. I am going to try to adapt the design a bit so I'm leaving these areas till last. I'm to the point where I've started the snowman's hat & of course next is a huge amount of stitching with white which I am dreading (see previous post). I realize my snowflakes look nice in this photo but not so in real life. I did discover something though. I have to stitch with a magnifying light & of course any little imperfect stitch shows up like a flashing neon sign when I'm looking at it through the magnifying lens. When I look at it with my naked eye it looks a lot better. Of course my eyeglass prescription change is about 6 years past due so what I see with my naked eye isn't much comfort to me ... lol!
I am now faced with a dilemma. I need to get started on a second exchange piece. John went to check the PO box today (he hadn't been there since last Friday) & he came home with something I needed for it so it's a go. However, do I continue along with the SAL & the dreaded white snowman or do I put it aside for a bit & work on the exchange piece? Decisions, decisions! I don't think I'll be making any decisions tonight however although I like to start one project & see it through rather than bounce between 2 or more. I will probably stick with the SAL. Knowing I have the exchange piece to do will maybe give me the courage to persevere? We shall see : )

Shirlee I envy you being able to stitch so beautifully! I love what you have finished so far and really hope that you continue with it as I am so looking forward to seeing the completed piece. It was indeed a good day to curl up.Hugs,Jen
It will be beautiful when it is finished! You can do it!
Do I , don't I? Decisions, decisions, decisions! Life is full of decisions and I for one just get tired of making them. So many have been wrong!lol Just kiddin'(that is what Andrew says all the time) you are so good at all you do, Shirlee.
Looks like you are coming right along with the SAL . It's looking great. Stick with it and you will be proud once it is finished. I hate when you work with white even in my prim stitheries. I have to finish all the other work, stain, and then do the white so it will show up. It was a cloudy, cool, day here too. I stayed in the room all day and worked on punching. Making a little progress now. Plan on roaming tomorrow if there is not rain. Have a wonderful week.

i'm still waiting on January and February word play. i worked on my birds of a feather by with thy needle and worked on wool pinkeep this evening. it was nice being off from work and getting to stitch all day.
I'm loving your progress, Shirlee! Hang in there with the white--it will be worth it on the end!
I'd finish this project first cause it's so damn cute. Your snowflakes look fantastic. I'm sure the snowman will too!
I really hate those gloomy days when you don't feel like doing anything.
We're expecting some snow tonight.
Hope tomorrow isn't a gloomy day I have lots of stitch'n to do.
Love your creation so far. I can't wait to see it all finished up.
Happy Stitch'n!!!
Prin Blessings

Beautiful progress! Good luck with the snowman.
It is truly looking so lovely xxx
If you think you'll finish the SAL in time to finish your exchange piece as well I would stick to the SAL. Had a deadline as well for my Biscornu so put my 6 fat men aside till the Biscornu was finished... but now I've started another Biscornu... See it's better to stick to one project :)
It's looking lovely Shirlee. I have to start mine soon!
This is GORGEOUS Shirlee....love it. Hmmmm...funny - I like gloomy days for projects - they just make me feel all "homey" ya know? (Well, a nap thrown in as always a good thing too....) Stitch on my friend, stitch on! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
